Frequently Asked Question
Q.Is the General Essay Paper has been included to the disadvantage of a student with a “pure” science background?
Ans: It is included to check the competence of the student in drafting skills. The marks achieved by the candidates in the prior examination certainly implies that it is not crucial to have the flowery or rhetorical terminology to score high. The General Essay is GENERAL as the name indicates. Good command over language and good writing skill are definitely assets, but need not be regarded as necessities. Q.Does the General Essay sheet not compel any Special Preparation?
Ans: This was the case until a few years back. Candidates with Social Science background especially those with Sociology or Public Administration had a distinct benefit in the article paper.
